Next week, I’ll be back in Miami, Florida, participating in Wynwood Walls 2024.
As one of the most celebrated destinations for cutting-edge creativity and a global leader in the street art movement, Wynwood Walls is proud to announce its official 2024 Art Week theme: Street Art Icons. This year’s theme honors the legendary and vibrant impact of the iconic works showcased at Wynwood Walls.
Unveiling during Art Week, Wynwood Walls will feature stunning new murals, sculptures, and glass works by eight internationally acclaimed artists: Askew One (New Zealand), Bublegum (Spain), Carlos Mare (New York City), Digital DOES (The Netherlands), ELLE Street Art (New York City), Logan Hicks (New York City), Simon Berger (Switzerland), and Sophie Mess (United Kingdom).
“We are honored to welcome this cohort of talented artists, who will infuse our ever-evolving walls with their unique vision and style,” says Jessica Goldman Srebnick, who has led the curatorial vision of Wynwood Walls for 12 of its 15 years. “What was once a desolate neighborhood is now a vibrant, ever-changing masterpiece with Wynwood Walls at its heart. In many ways, Wynwood Walls is recognized as both a laboratory for artistic expression and an immersive experience that fosters discovery, inspiration, and joy. If you want to experience the best in curated contemporary street art, you need to walk through the gates of Wynwood Walls to witness this beautiful interplay between art and community.”
This year’s Art Week will celebrate 15 years of artistic innovation with the release of Street Art Icons—a collaboration between Wynwood Walls and Assouline. This new book offers a retrospective of never-before-seen images, essays from iconic street artists, and a chronicle of Wynwood’s transformation from an overlooked neighborhood into an artistic hub. Visitors can join a live discussion on November 29th between contemporary art dealer Jeffrey Deitch and Jessica Goldman Srebnick, followed by a book signing event.
“Wynwood Walls has become a global destination for world-class art, rooted in accessibility, creativity, and community,” says Goldman Srebnick. “Our newest book, Street Art Icons, captures the spirit of this transformation, celebrating the artists, their extraordinary talents, and the creative movement that continues to inspire and connect people around the world.”
Throughout the week, exclusive events will include artist appearances, film screenings, sculpture unveilings, the grand opening of an expanded Street Art Experience, and a book signing with Jessica Goldman Srebnick. At the main Goldman Global Arts Gallery, visitors can explore and purchase works by celebrated artists such as Shepard Fairey, Carlos Mare, Logan Hicks, Simon Berger, Greg Mike, and ELLE Street Art. Meanwhile, the Wynwood Walls Shop will offer exclusive product drops featuring artist collaborations.
